Delaware - A rabid beaver attacked a 51 year old Scout leader in Eastern Pennsylvania on August 2nd. The beaver bit the man on the leg, buttocks, torso and hand.
A rabid beaver attacked a boy scout leader whilst he was swimming in the Delaware River. ABC reports that the 51 year old from New York, is recovering. He was swimming in eastern Pennsylvania on Aug 2nd when the beaver attacked him.
The Boy Scout leader, from New York, who was attacked by the rabid beaver while swimming in the Delaware River is recovering. The animal swam in between the legs of Normand Brosseau and bit him in the chest.
51 year old, Normand Brosseau was bitten on the leg, buttocks, torso and hand before managing to grab the beaver and hold its jaw closed. A boy scout pulled Brosseau to shore, there he tossed the beaver away from him. The scouts used rocks to kill the beaver.
CBS news reports, after the attack, the doctor confirmed that the beaver, did indeed have rabies. It is very unusual for a person to be attacked by a rabid beaver, according to Dutchess County health officials.
Brosseau told The Poughkeepsie Journal, that he thought it was a giant carp fish. Once he had thrown the beaver from his body, it came back to continue the attack.
