article imageBieber's sweet smell of success, new perfume breaks sales records

By Darren Weir     Aug 12, 2012 in Entertainment
Justin Bieber's new perfume for women is setting records by selling one bottle every minute in its first week at The Perfume shop, that has exclusive UK rights to the scent.
Michelle D'Vaz, National Advertising and PR Manager at The Perfume Shop, tells Digital Spy, "With the remarkable success of JB's debut scent Someday, we are thrilled to say all records have been broken with the launch of Girlfriend." "The online traffic has been remarkable and with one bottle being sold every minute it is safe to say Bieber fever is still a phenomenon!"
Aside from in-store sales, online traffic to The Perfume Shop website is up dramatically and the site has seen sales jump 132% compared to one-year ago.
The Daily Mail says die hard fans were camped out at The Perfume Shop stores across Britain, waiting for their chance to be among the first in the UK to purchase the scent.
The perfume hit store shelves in the US in June, making its debut at stores like Macy's and Sephora but so far, no figures have been released on American sales of Girlfriend.
MTV says Bieber's first fragrance, named Someday, earned more than $3 million in sales in less than four weeks.
The 18-year-old has already said he is "not interested in making a men's fragrance".
