article imageRomney recovers from intro of Paul Ryan as 'the next President'

By Marcus Hondro     Aug 11, 2012 in Politics
Norfolk - The Republican nominee for the U.S. presidency botched his intro of the man chosen as his running mate Saturday. In Norfolk, Virginia, the first time the new ticket appeared together, Romney said Paul Ryan was "the next President of the United States."
There were over 1,000 of the party faithful anxious to applaud Mr. Ryan as Romney said "Today's a good day for America, and there are better days ahead. Join me...(applause)...join me in welcoming the next President of the United States, Paul Ryan."
The crowd seemed slightly taken aback but as Ryan stepped up to the podium their cheers rose. Romney handled the gaffe well, coming back up to stand next to Ryan and saying "Every now and then I'm known to make a mistake. I did not make a mistake with this guy," and he pointed to Ryan. "But I can tell you this - he's gonna be the next Vice-President of the United States."
The news Romney had chosen Ryan, a congressman from Wisconsin, broke last night.
