Sydney - Is this the most dedicated Olympic Games enthusiast in the world? Sam Wheaton will watch the whole of the London 2012 Olympics in lockdown in a Sydney shop front window.
The latest publicity stunt for Nova FM Radio is to put 26-year-old Sam Wheaton from Bondi in a shop front window in George Street in the heart of Sydney for 17 days to watch the Olympic Games on nine screens and report back to Fitzy and Wippa on Nova 969 (named after it’s radio frequency of 96.9) each morning.
A Nova FM employee stands outside the shop window and informs passers by about Sam.
Digital Journal were informed that Sam is only allowed out to go to the toilet. He has a trampoline, some dumb bells and a skipping rope if he wants to do some exercise. During his ‘lockdown’ Sam has been given a yoga lesson and received a visit from the Hooters girls.
He will be released on Monday, 13 August in the morning, when the Olympic games have finished. After his release he will be sent to Brazil on holiday for two weeks with a friend.
People can watch a live webcam and chat to Sam online here.

Dangi fever
Two months ago Digital Journal reported that Nova FM had brought Dangi, the world’s shortest man to Sydney. He arrived to a superstar welcome. During his time in Sydney he was made an honorary member of a local rugby team the Rabbitohs and was given a life size cake of himself.
