Marcus Ringrose, the husband of the late Mary Tamm, has died, just hours after the funeral of his wife, it has been revealed.
Mary Tamm – best known for her role of the
Doctor Who companion, Time Lady Romanadvoratrelundar (Romana, for short) starred with Tom Baker’s Fourth Doctor
in the late seventies.
In July,
as reported by Digital Journal, Tamm died after a long battle with cancer. She was 62.
According to today’s Guardian, Ringrose suffered a suspected heart attack on Tuesday at his home in Battersea, London, after returning from his wife’s funeral.
Tamm’s agent, Barry Langford,
told the paper, “Ringrose had been at his computer replying to well-wishers who wrote to him after [Mary’s] death when he collapsed.”
As well as
Doctor Who, the actor appeared in a number of films, including
The Odessa File and
The Likely Lads and television soap operas
Brookside and
EastEnders.
The couple leave a daughter, Lauren, and seven-year-old grandson, Max.
