Honey Boo Boo Child, the precocious 6-year-old pageant queen who gained notoriety after appearing on trash TV show "Toddlers and Tiaras", hyped up on energy drinks, has been awarded her very own reality TV show.
"Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" debuted on TLC Wednesday evening, starring Alana Thompson, a chubby incomprehensible (without the sub-titles) 6-year-old child, who is shamelessly exploited along with her road-wreck of a family.
Boo Boo's mother, 32-year-old about to be Grandmother June Shannon, who weighs in at 309 pounds and lists extreme couponing as her hobby, defends what she describes as her "crazy" family, saying "we're not ignorant people like everybody says." Her other daughters feel the need to ensure viewers know “We are not rednecks.”
Mother June first came to international attention for hyping her child up on special Go-Go Juice that combined Mountain Dew and Red Bull. Inquisitir reported she defended the practice by saying "There are far worse things… I could be giving her alcohol.”
Washington Post readers had some interesting reactions to the first episode of the new reality show. One described it, along with Toddlers and Tiaras, as "perfect for trolling pedophiles"; another as an "atrocity"; yet another as "garbage." One thing seems clear though, once tuned into the show is as irresistible to watch as a train-wreck.
