Croydon - Tia Sharp is only 12 years old, yet she has been missing from home since Friday. Parent's of Tia Sharp are fearing the worst today as police search through hours of CCTV footage.
Tia was bright and popular at school. She had many friends and no reason to run away from home.
Last seen on Friday, Tia was making her way to the shopping centre to buy some new shoes, but has not been seen since. The Sun reports, that the police are urging people to come forward who may have information about her. Her Grandma also begged her to "return home"
Christine Sharp has urged her Granddaughter to get in contact, in whatever way that she can. However, as anxieties about her safety, last night grew, mother Natalie, 30 broke down: “This is hell — I’m beginning to fear the worst.”
“It’s a nightmare. Tia’s just a normal girl — not a runaway."
Tia was last seen on Friday afternoon, heading for Whitgift Shopping Centre, Croydon, Louis Wood. She's just an ordinary girl who is loved and missed by everyone. Tia lives with her parents, brothers Jack, three and Harry, one, in Merton, South West London.
Tia was not staying with her parents when she went missing. Instead, she was at her Gran's, nine miles away in New Addington, for the weekend. The shopping centre is five miles away and is just a bus journey, but no CCTV footage has been found so far. Tia was reported missing by her parents, at 6pm.
Woods were sealed off by police in New Addington, yesterday after discovering glasses similar to Tia's. Her mother said they did not belong to her, but police were still searching the area, last night. Tia was wearing a yellow boob tube, faded, grey skinny jeans and black and pink, Nike trainers. Tia had no mobile or travel card and only £10 in cash.
Tia's stepfather has said that the family are in bits. David Niles has spoken about the grief he feels, but is appreciative that the whole country is helping and supporting them. Niles has not slept for four days and Tia's mother is at breaking point.
Natalie Sharp told the Croydon Advertiser: "We all feel terrible. We think she's been taken but we just don't know. There is no CCTV. We know absolutely nothing. I wish to God I could tell you something. My baby girl walked out and she vanished."
The Guardian reports, the last person to see Tia was Christine Sharp's partner, Stuart Hazell. Although Niles is not Tia's real dad, he has been there since day one. He has bathed her, fed her and just wants her to return home. Christine Sharp hopes that a CCTV image of Tia that was taken near Co-op, the day before she disappeared and issued by authorities on Monday, would help people remember something. There are currently, 55 reported sightings of Tia, according to detectives, but none of them have been substantiated.
The Telegraph reports that, Mr Sharp spoke at a press conference at Scotland Yard, saying "I just want to say to Tia: I just want you to come home."
Every morning police are meeting in a gold group. They discuss in their group, any potential sightings of Tia before starting to search for her. It is feared that Tia may have got into a vehicle, very close to her grandparent's home.
