Twitter has announced that the social media site is now available in Greek, bringing the number of language options to 33.
Twitter has announced the addition of three more languages, launching Twitter in Greek, Czech and Basque. Popular Tweets already do the rounds in ελληνικά, from posters with access to a Greek keyboard.
Ekathimerini reported Twitter made the announcement on its blog-spot, saying:
“Last May, we opened our Translation Center to 6 new languages using a new set of features we’ve created to make the translation process faster.
There is more automation and more efficiency in this new system that allows for faster input from the translator community. On July 5th, we released Twitter.com in Ukrainian and Catalan as the first two languages from this batch.
Today we’re excited to announce that Twitter is now available in three more languages: Basque, Czech and Greek.”
Other social media sites are hurrying to catch up, with Path boasting 16 language options.
