The Pakistani national arrested over the brutal sexual assault of a 15-year-old girl on the Greek island of Paros, has allegedly admitted to the crime.
The brutal sexual assault on a 15-year-old tourist on July 22, on the Chrysi Akti beach, Paros, left the island in shock. The victim remains in a critical state in an Athens hospital, having suffered multiple injuries during the attack.
Now, the Pakistani national who was arrested in connection with the attack has allegedly admitted his responsibility, Ekathimerini reports. The 21-year-old gardener, who fled the island for Athens hours after the attack occurred, will appear in court this afternoon. He has admitted that his motivation for the attack was to steal the girl's mobile phone, but when she resisted he beat her head against the rocks until she was unconscious. Tests revealed that the girl had been raped. DNA evidence linked the victim with the Pakistani man.
As police escorted the attacker through the main port of Paros an angry crowd gathered. Islanders had dubbed the man the "dragon of Paros".
