Rapper Drake to graduate high school this summer

Toronto - Jimmy Brooks graduated from Degrassi High School years ago, but the actor who played him, rapper, Drake, has still not graduated. That will all change soon.

On a recent visit back home to Toronto, the 24-year old YMCMB rapper told NOW Magazine he was spending his summer graduating high school. "That's my main focus after OVO Fest. I only have one credit left and I'm really excited about that," he said. This year's OVO Fest will take place Sunday August 5 in Toronto, and will feature rappers A$AP Rocky and 2 Chainz, R&B singer The Weeknd, and Drake, who also the created the festival. "I just wanted to create something special for the city," The Toronto rapper told NOW. "When I grew up, I always used to hear how we never get anything 'good' coming through Toronto." When Drake was of high school age, he was filming the show, Degrassi:The Next Generation, BoomBox notes. According to Complex Mag, Drake has said in the past that one day he hopes to show his mom a high school diploma. Now, that dream, like many of his others, will become a reality.
