New York - When Brandon Stanton lost his old job and life behind in Chicago he came to the Big Apple to pursue a dream, capturing every day people on the streets of New York behind the lens.
Stanton's project, "Humans of New York" is getting notice. His pictures of regular people that he sees on the streets. As he has grown as a photographer the number of people on his website have become more selective. He takes an average of twenty shots a day with six or seven subjects.
Using a camera Stanton canvases his city every day to find interesting people. Every day he doesn't have to look far to realize his goal. He's taken almost 5,000 photos of the people he has met on his daily journey.
He survives on his small savings from his prior life and by living a simple lifestyle. He is beginning to need money but says on his website that he doesn't need that much to survive and continue doing what he loves.
