It looks as if Mark Zuckerberg's younger sister, Arielle Zuckerberg, is now an employee of Google. This employment status is connected to Google's recent acquisition of Wildfire Interactive.
NBC News reported Mark Zuckerberg's other sister Randi, sent out a tweet on Tuesday which stated:
"Congrats Wildfire! There are officially now more Zuckerberg family members working for Google than Facebook! #awkward ;),"
The Facebook CEO's brother-in-law Harry Schmidt, married to sister Donna, also works for Wildfire. Reportedly, he is not related to Eric Schmidt of Google.
According to Mashable, Google acquired Wildfire, and published the news on July 31. Arielle Zuckerberg lists her occupation on her blog as "I am a Junior Product Manager at Wildfire Interactive, Inc. in the San Francisco Bay Area."
Fox News reported yesterday Arielle Zuckerberg made a comment about the purchase on her Facebook page, writing:
“I'm in Israel on Birthright and I just found out that I'm now a Google employee. Not gonna lie ... This feels pretty awkward. I also feel very proud to be a part of the Wildfire team on this exciting day,” she wrote.
With the new Google purchase and addition of Zuckerbergs to the mix, there should be interesting discussion at family get-togethers.
Forbes reported that Google purchased Wildfire Interactive, a social media marketing company, from "under competitor Facebook's nose".
For some time now Google has been trying to make strides in the social media arena, experiencing a couple of failures with earlier products, but is giving another go at it with Google+.
