Greg Altringer of Great Falls took his girlfriend Erica Kresge to Wrigley Field for a cubs game with a clever plan to propose to her on the Jumbotron. But things didn't go as Greg planned. Erica missed the moment the proposal appeared on the screen.
ABC Chicago reports Greg arranged for the scoreboard to run the message during the fifth inning.
According to
The Great Falls Tribune, Greg's mother Cathy said he sent Erica to get beer during the Chicago-Pittsburgh game so he could arrange for nearby spectators to videotape her reaction when the scoreboard says "Erica will you marry me?" But unfortunately, Erica took longer than he expected and missed the proposal on the scoreboard.
Watch Greg's reaction when the message appears but Erica wasn't in sight.
The Huffington Post reports when Erica returned, the field's camera captured Greg proposing on one knee and slipping a ring around Eric's finger. Happily, Erica still said yes.
