Jul 29, 2012 in Crime
Aurora - The mother of the youngest victim of the Aurora, Colorado shootings has now suffered a miscarriage. Ashley Moser remains in very serious condition after being shot in the neck and abdomen.
The Denver Post says Moser's family issued a statement to say that the 25 year old underwent surgery for her injuries but suffered a miscarriage. She was 8 weeks pregnant when she was shot.
Tulsa World reports Moser's 6-year old daughter, Veronica Moser-Sullivan, was the youngest person killed in the shooting attack in an Aurora, Colorado theatre showing the Batman movie The Dark Knight Rises, more than a week ago. A family member says Moser has still not been told about Veronica's death. Funeral plans are still being made.
KMGH-TV quotes the family thanking everyone for their "well-wishes, prayers and good thoughts," and "We want to send a special thank you to the courageous HEROES of law enforcement, other first responders, paramedics, and doctors and nurses who have all gone beyond the call-of-duty in caring for our daughter, granddaughter and all of the other victims of this tragic event."
The family says donations can be made at any Wells Fargo Bank under the "Donation Account for Ashley and Veronica Moser".
James Holmes accused of killing 12 people and injuring 58 others, is being held in custody without bond and will likely face an arraignment hearing next month.
