Geoffrey Huges is a legend who will be remembered for his memorable roles in Coronation Street and Keeping Up Appearances, to name a few.
Geoffrey Huges has died at age 68. He was a much loved character who played many parts in television shows. Most well known for Eddie Yates in Coronation Street and Onslow in Keeping Up Appearances. Many people are saddened by this comedy loss.
Geoffrey Hughes had fantastic comedy timing and brought character roles to life. Huges was an asset to the television world and will be greatly missed, by many people. Huges died peacefully in his sleep on Friday night according to BBC News.
Geoffrey Huges fought prostrate cancer bravely. His struggle was long, but prostrate cancer finally took him. Huges enjoyed life on the Isle of Wight before he was diagnosed with prostrate cancer. Hughes thought that he had beaten the cancer off in 2009, but was told in 2010 that it had returned.
Everyone who knows Geoffrey Huges, both personally and as an actor, is greatly saddened. The television world is in mourning for this most loved actor. He played many parts so fantastically and brought many people pleasure. He is a comedy great and will be remembered for his sheer talent and skill. His shows included; Heartbeat, teen drama Skins, Doctor Who, Casualty, Boon and The Upper Hand.
Geoffrey Huges was also given the title, Deputy Lord Lieutenant for the Isle of Wight, in 2009 reports The Guardian.
According to Sky News, Geoffrey Huges was well loved and respected. He was a friend to many people and had a heart of gold. Huges leaves a lasting impression on the entertainment industry. Celebrities have spoken about their friendship and love for him. Hundreds of tributes have poured in online, for Huges. Huges supported cancer charities and raised money for them.
Royle Family actor Ricky Tomlinson said: "Geoff wasn't just an actor. He was my mate. I used to call him every few weeks but hadn't spoken to him in about a fortnight. It's such a loss."
Helen Worth, who plays Gail McIntyre, said: "Geoff was a very dear friend for many years, and I'm very sad to hear the news of his passing. He was a master of gentle comedy and brought pleasure to so many people. He will be sadly missed."
Personally, I will remember Geoffrey Huges for his character, Onslow in Keeping Up Appearances. Onslow and Daisy were husband and wife, in the series. I remember watching Keeping Up Appearances with my parents and I used to look forward to it. We even have a running joke that my husband and I, are like Onslow and Daisy. Onslow was a couch potato and Daisy was his long, suffering wife. I will miss Geoffrey Huges and send my heart felt wishes to his family. May he rest in peace.
