New York - Perhaps not wanting to be outdone by Justin Bieber, who serenaded fans from his car on a street, Lady Gaga played a song in New York from hers. With Gaga though she did not play it live but rather she played the track of the song on her stereo.
The information is coming from fans tweeting of the experience. There was Gaga, in the back seat of her SUV in a parking lot that hasn't been identified, playing a song on her stereo. People gathered around and called out to Gaga how great the tune was.
One of the fans said she asked Gaga, who did not reveal the name of the track, if it would be her next single and Gaga nodded 'yes' and then said "Sshhh." The tweets speak of a fine experience all around. "Just met GaGa!" one fan tweeted. "She was playing a song from her new album! It was a very heavy dance/club song! The beat was f---ing insane!"
Lady Gaga: 'No press, no television'
Gaga already plays a song from the album live in concert. That song is a ballad called 'Princess Die' and when she plays it she tells fans it will be on the new album. She has also told them the song is not indicative of the entire record but is about "some of the most deep and personal thoughts I've ever had." She'll reveal the name of her upcoming album in September but hasn't given a release date. Her last album, 'Born This Way', was released in May of 2011.
And if you wonder why she did not give out this information to media it's because she's not talking to press, hence information having to be gleaned from tweets. Back in March on 'Oprah's Next Chapter' she told Oprah Winfrey she was going silent. "Other than this interview, Oprah, I do not intend to speak to anyone for a very long time," she said. "No press, no television."
Not a bad plan, it seems. After all, why bother with the press when you can simply sit in the back seat of a car in a parking lot and your fans do all the promoting you need.
