Universal City - Justin Bieber nabbed four 2012 Teen Choice Awards at Universal City, CA. Sunday night and the Canadian pop star also put on a display of dancing for the ages. Bieber performed songs from 'Believe' and had fans screaming even before he hit the stage.
Teen Choice Awards come in the form of a surfboard and Bieber won one for Choice Male Fashion Icon, Choice Male Music Star of the Summer, Choice Single by a Male Artist ('Boyfriend') and Choice Male Artist, bringing his total of Teen Choice Awards wins to 12 over the three years he's been on the scene. He was nominated in four other categories on this night but did not win.
Justin Bieber: Dances at Teen Choice Awards
Judging by applause and screams his performance at the show, hosted by Demi Lovato and Kevin McHale, was a highlight of the evening. Dressed in black and silver and looking tres sleek, the protege of Usher, one of the great R&B dancers, was surrounded by dancers and they kicked up a dancing storm. He's promised new dancing skills for his upcoming 'Believe' tour and it was not an idle boast, performing 'Boyfriend' and his new single 'As Long as You Love Me.' For the latter he was joined onstage by rapper Big Sean.
"Thank you so much to all my fans," he said after his performance. "I just want to say this album has meant the world to me, and I hope that it was everything you guys waited for. This is just a reminder to everyone in here: Believe."
Bieber's girlfriend, Selena Gomez,. also took home a surfboard; Gomez and her band The Scene won for Choice Music Group. It was Gomez' 20th birthday.
