Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker went on a health kick and has decided that he will quit smoking marijuana after health scare.
Barker said that he started his new health kick after he learnt that his esophagus has become precancerous due to years of smoking pot and eating bad food.
According to Female First, back in May Blink 182 had to cancel some shows because Barker was diagnosed with Barrett's esophagus. The drummer had to go to the hospital for an emergency tonsillectomy.
According to International Business Times, Barker said that doctors discovered six ulcers. He went onto say that Barrett's esophagus was caused excessive smoking and extreme acid reflux.
Barker admitted that he really loved smoking marijuana. He said that he use to smoke a lot, especially when he felt anxious.
According to Babble, Barker said that he thought that he would be able to smoke pot for the rest of his life. He then went onto say that when it comes to your health and when it is on the line, you don't mess around.
Barker was involved in a plane crash a few years ago and has avoided flying since then. Blink 182 is touring Australia next year and Barker is considering overcoming his fear of flying and going with the band. He said he might do it because Qantas, Australia's home airline, has never been involved in a plane crash.
