Star quarterback Drew Brees has officially signed a contract with the New Orleans Saints. The contact is worth a record breaking $100 million.
Brees agreed to the historic deal on Friday, according to
ESPN. On Sunday Brees visited the team headquarters, where he underwent a physical and actually signed the five-year contract. His pay will be the highest annual pay in NFL history. Bees will be paid $20 million a year.
According to
Washington Post, Brees said that he thinks that everybody is just ready to get back to work because of the process throughout the offseason and how challenging the offseason was for everybody.
According to
Sports Illustrated, Brees broke NFL single-records when he did 468 completions, 71.2 completion percentage and 5,476 yards passing.
Brees has not only been busy signing lucrative contracts but he has also kept busy by being active in the community through his foundation, the Brees Dream Foundation. The foundation has sponsored more than $6 million in projects, most of them with the aim of improving shcools and athletic facilities for kids.
