article imageVideo: Russian man escapes death at gas station pile-up

Orenburg - It wasn't his time to go, as this man narrowly escapes death during a massive traffic accident involving five vehicles, at a gas station in Orenburg.
In the video, the man barely manages to escape death, and has probably been thanking his lucky stars ever since.
A bus carrying 30 passengers was heading down a busy street, when a Kamaz truck, driving in the opposite direction, suddenly made a left turn without giving way to traffic.
The bus driver, trying to avoid a collision with the truck, veered to the right, towards a gas station.
Although luckily a head-on collision was avoided, the vehicles did eventually collide. When this happened, they were heading directly into the gas pumps, where the lucky man was standing, waiting to fuel his car.
Totally shocked, he managed to stagger away to avoid a direct hit from both vehicles, which stopped literally inches away from him.
The truck then continued and crashed into a van, while the bus smashed into a Ford Mondeo. In turn the Ford hit a Toyota Corolla.
Amazingly, only one person was slightly injured, and though the stand covering the gas pumps was hit, thankfully no fuel leaked, otherwise things could have got so much worse.
The only injury in the mass accident was an elderly woman, who was injured when the bus hit the truck. Luckily, her injuries were so minor, she did not even go to the hospital.
In the meantime, police are trying to conduct an investigation into who actually caused the accident and they are looking for the man, who managed to dodge death. However, Orenburg road police do believe that the blame lies with the truck driver, who failed to give way when he made his turn, starting the whole disaster.
