A judge in England has decreed that a sex offender with a history of violence to women and cruelty to children is banned from having any one-night stands.
Known sex offender Richard Ford, 41, poses a dangerous threat to women. However, when Ford appeared in court this week for breaching a restraining order, the judge ruled out any quick relationships, rather than imposing a custodial sentence.
The Daily Mail reported that Judge John Plumstead ruled that Ford "is not allowed to take advantage of a one-night stand offered on a plate by someone who doesn't know his background." Instead of whisking some unsuspecting woman into his clutches Ford must first seek permission from his probation officer.
Judge Plumstead said "Until this man sorts out whatever it is going on his head that makes him behave as he does, I have concerns about the danger he represents...It is crucial that he does not enter any relationships with anybody at all without the knowledge of his probation."
The judge stated "The choice is that or jail - hard luck."
