An Oklahoma man was approaching a birthday milestone and wasn't sure how to celebrate, so he did what many people would probably do nowadays, he turned to Facebook to get a variety of ideas or opinions.
Doug Eaton recently turned 65 and he wasn't sure how to mark the occasion, so he asked his Facebook friends what they thought he should do.
According to KFOR, one of his friends suggested he perform 65 random acts of kindness.
So, he decided to celebrate by giving away cash for 65 minutes.
“Doug doesn’t need the money, so he is just having fun,” his friend said, reported KFOR.
Eaton stood on a street corner in Oklahoma City and gave out $5 bills to people passing by for just over an hour. He expressed to local media what a great birthday he had, noting that some people told him that they loved what he was doing, but to keep the cash for the next person who needs it.
“I think this is the craziest guy I have ever seen in my life and it`s fantastic! I am enjoying the moment out here,” one driver reportedly said.
Yahoo! Shine reported he gave away over $375 during the 65 minutes.
"This day has been one of the biggest blessings of my recent life," he told his Facebook friends (courtesy of Yahoo! Shine). "I don't know if I can wait until another birthday to do this again. But what if it became a habit? Or what if everyone or a lot of people did their birthday number of random acts of kindness on their birthday? How good would that be?"
Eaton said it was the best birthday ever.
