San Onofre - Imagine the scene, relaxing on the beach, on a hot, summers day, minding your own business and you suddenly spot something in the water, but it's not a shark. No, it's two goats riding the waves.
If you go down to the beach today you're sure of a big surprise, as goats ride the waves together on their surf board. Beach goers relaxing in the Californian sun, were amazed when they saw the unusual sight of two goats surfing waves.
BBC News report that, Goatee the nanny goat and her kid billy Pismo balanced on surfboards and skimmed across the water at San Onofre State Beach in Orange County.
Dana McGregor the owner of the goats, first bought Goatee so that she would eat excess foliage on the property, but decided to take her with, on a surfing trip.
Yahoo News reports, once baby Pismo was born in March, he was put on the board also. On Wednesday, local surfers Mark and Debbie Gale teamed up to help get both goats surfing the same board together.
A few waves later, Goatee was tired and swam to shore. However, they managed to stay upright on the board for a few waves, at least. 10 News states that, McGregor enjoys surfing so much that he thought his goats would too. Pismo helped keep the balance and was a natural at surfing.
The goats put beach-goers in the right mood and it's thanks to owner, Dana McGregor. McGregor taught the goats to surf from a young age.
The goats' owner, Dana McGregor, says he taught his goats to surf because he loves to ride the waves and thought they would like it, too. McGregor loves surfing so much that he wanted to see if his goats would take to the sport too. They took to surfing as though it was natural to them. McGregor was unsure if his goats would like surfing as much as he did, but now they go every time with him and love it. It's fantastic exercise for them and gives beach-goer's a great laugh. There's been some wonderful reactions as well as the element of surprise.
