Off-duty New York City police officer Salisha Alirasul, 34, was arrested after she slammed her vehicle into a parked car in the Jamaica section of Queens at 2:14 a.m.
She was handcuffed and placed under arrest by responding officers after she refused to take a breathalyzer test.
Alirasul was taken to Jamaica Hospital where she was treated for chest pains and cuts incurred in the wreck. NYPD sources said no other motorists or pedestrians were hurt in the incident.
The NYPD suspended Alirasul without pay upon her arrest. She has served five years on the police force.
Alirasul is the second NYPD officer to be arrested on DWI charges this week.
Officer Brayan Terrazas, 26
, was arrested on DWI charges this past Sunday morning after he was involved in a traffic accident that involved a collision with a concrete traffic divider in Hunters Point, Queens.
There were no injuries reported in that incident.
