There is a new competition in Georgia in which the prize goes to the dog with the most exceptional human leg humping skills. All you need to enter for the competition is a dog of any breed with first-rate leg humping skills.
The Huffington Post reports that the Humpy Awards video was posted to YouTube and Reddit Monday morning. According to the YouTube description of the Humpy Awards, it "celebrates a natural dog behaviour: the leg humping. This dog humping competition was judged on speed, style, stamina, mount and dismount."
A man tells us in the video that “There’s the Emmys, the Grammies, the Webbys and now there’s the Humpys."
This year's winner of the Humpy Award is a lady, Miss Hope. The dog with unladylike skills is an eight-year-old Russell Terrier whose "style, stamina, mount and dismount" skills were unsurpassed.
Joe notes that the competition appears designed as part of a viral marketing stunt for AMC's new reality series "Small Town Security," that debuts July 15.
The Huffington Post reports that the show focuses on a private security company called JJK Security in rural Georgia.
