Chengdu - And now for something completely cute. Young pandas are introduced to their new playground at China's Chengdu Panda Base.
Frolicking just like a bunch of kids, the young pandas enjoy their first experience on a custom-built wooden slide.
They roll around on the grass, and play on specially designed climbing frames at the Chengdu Panda Base in southern China.
Chengdu has been the hometown of the giant panda for more than 8 million years, and the Chengdu Panda Base (a not-for-profit organization) is a world-renowned breeding and research center for the giant panda. Celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2012, the Panda Base now has the largest controlled breeding population in the world -108 giant pandas.
The center released this video to mark the first ever Panda Awareness Week. Because pandas are threatened by loss of habitat and poor breeding capabilities, they are considered to be one of the planet's most endangered species.
One thing is for sure, they are extremely cute!
