Mulit-millionaires seeking their next indulgence will soon be able to splurge on their very own floating island, a snap at a cool $6.5 million.
Orsos, an Austrian company owned by Gábor Orsós, has designed the ultimate luxury toy for the mega-rich, a man-made floating island. The islands have no engine but can be towed to luxury destinations as the owner chooses.
Naharnet reported Orsos announced this week that it expects its first finished products to be ready in 18 months' to two years' time.
According to the Orsos website the "The Island is over 20 meters wide and more than 37 meters in length" and "the innovative design promises Island living more comfortable than just about any luxury yacht." Each island can accommodate 12 residents and up to four staff if required.
Gábor Orsós says "The luxurious yet affordable Islands offer much more than just the traditional ordinary holiday atmosphere. We offer you the possibility to withdraw yourself on ORSOS Islands and avoid the classical tourism so that you can enjoy a personal and unforgettable holiday experience."
The company says it has had interest from all over the world in the island concept, particularly from the U.S., China and Australia.
