Rumors are still going around that Randy Orton's employment with the WWE is in jeopardy. This follows the May 30 announcement that Orton was being suspended.
Orton was suspended from the company back on May 30 for violating the Talent Wellness Program. He was handed a 60-day suspension.
According to Wrestling Inc. Vince McMahon is not happy with Orton. It is said that McMahon is actually livid with Orton. Sources say that Orton was suspended in a hastily manner because the company wanted to make sure that he could return in time SummerSlam on August 19. Sources also say that something happen after the announcement and now there are discussions of Orton not making a return at all.
According to WrestleZone, there is also talk about how the WWE doesn't view Orton's absence as a big deal. The WWE apparently views CM Punk as the number two babyface in the company, which is a first in Punk's career. The WWE also does not think that the depth of their babyface talent will be an issue once Rey Mysterio returns back to the company.
According to WhatCulture, some people speculate that Orton's passion for the industry is not as strong as it once was. Sources say that Orton has saved up enough money to not worry about money issues for the next several years. This means that Orton could end up taking an extended break.
As of now Orton is contracted to WWE for another 8 years, Orton signed a ten year contract with the WWE back in January of 2010.
