Tom Maynard, Surrey cricketer, was struck by a London Underground train and as a result of the accident, has passed away.
The 23-year-old batsman, from Cardiff, played the t20 game on Sunday, which was his last game ever.
According to BBC, the incident occurred on Monday and it involved a District Line train at the Wimbledon Park Station.
According to Brisbane Times, there are some mysterious circumstances that surround his death. Police say that a man fitting Maynard's description fled from them after he was pulled over for "erratic" driving.
According to Washington Post, the man was found dead about an hour after he fled from officers. British Transport Police said that they are treating the case as "non-suspicious."
Richard Thompson, Surrey chairman, said that Maynard was a very talented batsman. Maynard joined Surrey from Glamorgan and it was in 2011 when Maynard scored his first century at county level.
