A 67-year-old woman spent four days trapped under a dresser, after it fell and trapped her as she moved furniture in her apartment.
Virginia Cartier was trapped beneath a dresser in her apartment, part of a complex at 12620 N.W. Barnes Road, Cedar Mills, Oregon, according to the
Beaverton Valley Times.
Neighbors became concerned when they noticed they hadn't heard from Cartier in several days, papers were beginning to pile up and she failed to answer the door.
Neighbor Rich Roisland told
KCTV 5 he "hadn't seen her in a few days, hadn't heard much noise upstairs, but, like I say, she was pretty quiet anyway." Police were called and kicked the apartment door down. Roisland said "The first thing they said was, 'We think she's dead.'"
Paramedics pronounced Cartier alive though and she was taken to Providence St Vincent Medical Center where both her legs were treated for injuries.
