The world's largest private yacht, under construction in Germany, is set to eclipse the Eclipse, currently the top super yacht. Project Azzam is set to cost more than $600 million.
Although the identity of the owner is top secret Emirates 247writes there are reports the yacht has been commissioned by Saudi billionaire Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Al Saud, the world's richest Arab.
The new super yacht is under construction at Germany's Lürssen Yachts facility where it is codenamed Project Azzam. Superyachts reported the project is shrouded in mystery, but once finished the yacht will knock Eclipse from its current spot as the world's largest yacht.
Eclipse is owned by Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich, whose fortune is far outranked by Prince Alwaleeds. The Saudi prince has an estimated wealth of $18 billion, dwarfing the $12 billion fortune of Abramovich, and making it only fitting that he should sail the seas in splendour.
