"American Idol" runner-up Jessica Sanchez is getting more popular as promoters of the nation's biggest sports events have engaged the 16-year-old singing sensation to sing the National Anthem in their opening ceremonies.
Sanchez has
performed at the opening of the NBA finals featuring Miami Heat and Oklahoma Thunder.
In Las Vegas, she
graced the Pacquiao-Bradley fight with her rendition of the National Anthem before some 15,000 live audience at the MGM Grand Garden Arena and the millions of boxing fans from around the world watching the telecast from the US.
Earlier Sanchez performed before thousands of people during the PBS Memorial Day concert in Washington, D.C.
While in New York early last week, Sanchez has reportedly been mobbed by adoring fans as she made a series of appearances on top-rating TV shows including
Live! with Kelly and
Today Show.
The young and talented singer from Chula Vista in San Diego is scheduled to join the top winners of American Idol's eleventh season in a concert tour which is set to begin on July 6.
