A man from Western Pennsylvania blamed his pet dog, for setting his apartment on fire. However, he was found guilty of starting the fire himself and jailed for his behavior. Cresson Township police charged fifty-eight year old John Saparo with setting fire to his apartment on July 12th.
Currently, police do not know how the fire was started, but they do know it was not started by Saparo's dog, as originally claimed. Saparo told officers that he was cleaning the apartment and had many fans running when his dog banged into one of them and knocked it over.
According to Saparo, it was because his dog knocked into the fan that started the fire. Currently, Saparo is being held in the Cambria County jail waiting for his preliminary hearing on June 20th for arson related charges.
