Warner Bros has decided to get more involved in British cinema by getting ready to launch a brand new studio complex that will be located right outside of London.
The $155 million studio sits on a 200-acres and includes one of Europe's largest heated underwater filming tanks as well as very large sound stages. There is also a 100-acre clear horizon back-lot that will be used for shooting scenes outdoors.
According to Reuters, Warner Bros Studios will now be going head-to-head with other facilities located in Britain, one of them being Pinewood Studios which is located a few miles away from Warner Bros new studio.
According to GMA, Josh Berger, president of Warner Bros UK, Spain and Ireland, said that the company is confident in the British film industry's future and that TV shows and movies will continue to be made there.
According to Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros did not immediately announce the studio's first production project. The company did say that it is currently working towards announcing projects soon.
Warner Bros are wanting to make a handful of movies on a yearly basis but they will also allow the space to be used by other productions.
