This seaons's guitar-playing winner of American Idol, Philip Philips, is out of hospital and now resting in Malibu after successful kidney surgery.
"I'm out of the hospital and back to work!" the singing sensation from Leesburg, Georgia told E! News. "Looking forward to the future."
The 21-year-old singer has been battling a kidney ailment since the American Idol singing competition concluded.
Philips is set to join the top singers of the last American Idol season who are currently preparing for an American concert tour starting July 6.
The upcoming concert tour kicks off in Detroit led by Philips. He is joined by nine others from the top 10 of the last season of American Idol.
The top 10 consist of Phillip Phillips (Winner), Jessica Sanchez (Runner-up), Joshua Ledet (3rd place), Hollie Cavanagh(4th place)Skylar Laine (5th place), Elise Testone (6th place)Colton Dixon (7th place), DeAndre Brackensick (8th place)Heejun Han (9th place) and Erika Van Pelt (10th place).
The concert tour will stage a total of 46 shows and will end on Sept. 21.
Meanwhile, American Idol runner-up Jessica Sanchez has reportedly been mobbed by adoring fans in New York recently as she made a series of appearances on TV shows including Live! with Kelly and the Today Show.
The 16-year-old Filipino/Mexican-American singing sensation also recently shared the spotlight with boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada as she sang the National Anthem before a 15,000-person live audience.
