Fayetteville - When pastor Creflo Dollar told his church Sunday when the real facts come out they would be "appalled" -- he wasn't kidding. A newly released 911 tape from the night in question alleges Dollar has been violent before.
"It was not the first time it’s happened," the 15-year-old girl said to a Fayette County 911 operator Friday morning, saying her father choked slapped and punched her in the face. She said she was scared, shaking, and didn't know what to do.
The daughter of the megachurch pastor also said that she felt "threatened" being in the house with her father, the AJC says, adding that her father was still somewhere in the house and didn't know she was calling.
As 11alive notes, Dollar was taken into custody on charges of simple battery and cruelty to children. He was transported to Fayette County Jail. Dollar posted $5,000 bond after a first appearance in magistrate court Friday.
Police in Fayette County released the audio tape of the 911 phone call on Monday.
The new information Dollar's alleged prior violence comes just a day after Dollar took to his pulpit at World Changers Church International in College Park vindicating himself saying, "all is well in the Dollar household."
A new review of the police report does show the number of previous incidents as one.
"The truth is that a family conversation with our youngest daughter got emotional, emotions got involved, and things escalated from there," he said. "The truth is, she was not choked, she was not punched."
The injury on her neck? Nothing but the remnants from a case of eczema.
"I should have never been arrested," he said.
