Thame - This video was posted on YouTube June 8, 2012 by JMEagle103. The tribute is a compilation of photos taken at Robin Gibb's funeral procession with the 1968 Bee Gees hit "I Started a Joke" as the video soundtrack.
Singer and songwriter Robin Gibb was laid to rest Friday in a private ceremony near the singer's home in Thame, England.
Family and friends of the iconic pop-star gathered to pay their respects as the late musician's coffin was placed inside a glass-paneled carriage and transported to a private ceremony at St Mary's Church in Thame, Oxfordshire.
The procession was led by a lone musician playing the bagpipes and followed by friends and family including his mother Barbara, wife Dwina, Brother Barry and his two sons Spencer and RJ.
After making their way through town, with hundreds of fans lining the route, the procession reached its final destination to the sound of the Bee Gees classic hit song "How Deep Is Your Love."
Sole surviving brother Barry Gibb said to the congregation gathered in the church: "Life is too short. In Robin's case, absolutely too short."
And with a trembling voice, Barry added: "They were both beautiful. And now they're together. They're actually together," referring to Robin and his deceased twin brother Maurice.
Maurice Gibb died suddenly in 2003.
After the ceremony, Robin Gibb was laid to rest near a memorial to his younger brother Andy in the graveyard just outside of the church.
