The BBC have issued the first official photograph depicting the Doctor and his new companion, together on set for the new season of Doctor Who.
The photograph shows Matt Smith and Jenna-Louise Coleman in character, with the Doctor sporting a new version of his trademark costume.
Much posher than the previous version, Den of Geekpoints out that, "The bow-tie is black, as is a rather natty tweed and waistcoat combo."
The BBC spoke to Smith during filming for what will be his third season in the role. He told them, "[Filming] is going well. Jenna brings a really different energy to the show – one which I think is very interesting."
Digital Journalreported on Coleman's casting in March. She is playing the Eleventh Doctor's third companion; and is taking over from Karen Gillan (Amy) and Arthur Darvill (Rory), who are set to leave the show later this year.
Coleman's character is as yet unnamed, but fan speculation has suggested that she will be called Clara. Her first appearance in Doctor Who will be during the 2012 Christmas special, which will once again be written by series showrunner Steven Moffat.
