Miley Cyrus engaged to Liam Hemsworth

Miley Cyrus, the former Disney channel child star is engaged to “Hunger Games” actor Liam Hemsworth. Hemsworth, 22 met Cyrus, 19 when they costarred in 'The Last Song' in 2009. He proposed her on May 31 with a 3.5-carat diamond ring.

After dating for three years, the young stars are now engaged to be married. Miley Cyrus rose to stardom with her series “Hannah Montana” and soon became a teen idol. Liam Hemsworth, the Australian star of “The Hunger Games” fell for Montana while making their 2009 Nicholas Sparks film ‘The Last Song’. Since then they have been dating on and off. "I'm so happy to be engaged and look forward to a life of happiness with Liam," Cyrus told People magazine. Miley had been sporting the rock on her left hand since last November and kept denying about any engagement rumors that were doing the rounds in late March. As congratulatory messages keep pouring in for the young ‘star couple’ who are gearing up for a walk down the aisle, there have been few remarks from fans about Miley’s ‘teen wedding’. Miss Cyrus is yet to celebrate her 20th birthday which falls in November. "I think that she is 19, but in her head she is an old soul. She has lived 19 lives in 19 years ... She is an accomplished young woman, who knows what she wants at this time in her life,", “America's Got Talent" judge Sharon Osbourne spoke up for the singer reported Reuters. "Thank you for all the love today. I'm happy to share this news with you all. I feel like all my dreams are coming true," Cyrus posted on Twitter, reports CNBC. The wedding date is yet to be scheduled. Before their wedding, Cyrus is recording a new album while Hemsworth is scheduled to shoot two movies before tackling "The Hunger Games" sequel.
