article imageWWE: John Laurinaitis to be fired by Vince McMahon next week?

By Chris Humphrey     Jun 6, 2012 in Sports
During next week’s three-hour Raw SuperShow from the XL Center in Hartford, Conn., the chairman of the board, Vince McMahon, will make a rare television appearance to evaluate the job performance of Raw and Smackdown GM John Laurinaitis.
Following the announcement of McMahon being in attendance next Monday, the WWE posted a storyline article on their website speculating if Laurinaitis will leave with his job next week after his review.
Here are the details from the article on on whether or not John Laurinaitis will survive his upcoming performance review from Vince McMahon.
"The last time Laurinaitis faced a performance evaluation in January, it looked like Triple H was going to 'future endeavor' the GM before Undertaker interrupted the WWE COO's assessment. Then, 'Mr. Excitement' survived another close call in February when he convinced the Board of Directors to spare his position as Raw GM.”
Even though the vast majority of WWE fans would love to see Laurinaitis get fired next week, it is very doubtful that scenario will play out, as honestly, the WWE doesn’t have a great heel authority figure to replace him each week.
With John Cena facing off with the Big Show in a steel cage at No Way Out six days after next week’s Raw SuperShow, McMahon and the creative team will likely put Laurinaitis’ job on the line in the match with him being fired if Show were to lose to Cena.
If the WWE goes in the direction of having his job on the line at No Way Out, you can almost guarantee Big Show will defeat John Cena with help from outside interference or possibly crashing through the cage to the floor to win the match.
As one of the most unpopular authority figures in the history of the WWE, how do you see the performance review of John Laurinaitis playing out next week when Vince McMahon returns to Raw?
