Ubisoft unveiled the first trailer for 'Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist' at E3 2012. Players will once again take on the role of Sam Fischer as he takes on a group of rouge states that are funding terrorist attacks against American interest.
In a newsletter sent out on June 5, Ubisoft stated that gamers can,
"Unleash the power of the most lethal agent to ever exist. You are Sam Fisher, and have freedom to go above the law to protect innocents against a series of global terror attacks known as Blacklist."
The game will be set years after the events of
Conviction, Third Echelon has been disbanded and Fisher is tasked with building its successor, Fourth Echelon. Unlike its predecessor, this new agency is lead by Fisher and will answers solely to the President of the United States.
Besides having a new agency, Fisher will have a series of new
gadgets and weapons at his disposal. More information regarding the plot and game-play will be available in the future.
Ubisoft is expected to release
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist sometime during Spring 2013 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC but gamers
can pre-order now.
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist will be the seventh installment in the
Splinter Cell-series, an espionage themed stealth action game.
