Amsterdam ends ban on drinking beer standing

Amsterdam - Amsterdam will soon allow people on terraces to stand and drink their beer once again, according to a municipal spokeswoman.
The spokeswoman said that the municipal ban will be lifted soon. However, it is not clear when the ban will be lifted.
According to Radio Netherlands Worldwide, the spokeswoman said that they are hoping that the measure will come into force in the summertime. She went onto say that the deadline may not be able to be met by authorities in the capital.
According to Expatica, The ban was brought into play to help keep noise levels at bay. The spokeswoman said that limited seating is available on terraces.
The spokeswoman said that noise levels will likely become unacceptable if people were allowed to drink beer while standing. People who break relevant municipal rules on noise levels will face a fine.
