Using their social media Twitter account Toronto Police announced this morning that an arrest has been made in the Eaton Centre shooting case. There is no other information being released until a news conference later this afternoon.
On Saturday a gunman opened fire at Toronto's Eaton Centre's Urban Eatery. The large food court had close to a thousand visitors at the time of the shooting. Seven people were shot with one death.
On Sunday Detective Sgt. Brian Borg told reporters that at least one, possibly two, victims were connected to gang activity. Borg stressed at the time that it had not been determined if the shooting was gang-related.
As of Monday two victims remained in hospital, both in critical condition. A pregnant woman who was trampled as the crowd ran to escape the area has been released from hospital.
24-year-old Ahmed Hassan was killed instantly at the scene. His body was removed early Sunday morning from the Eaton Centre.
