Several months after the release of the Windows 8 Consumer Preview, Microsoft today released the much awaited, highly anticipated Windows 8 Release Preview.
Microsoft's much awaited Windows 8 Release Preview is now available for download. The Redmond-based software company promised the near-final build of Windows 8 would arrive in early June, and the product has arrived ahead of schedule. Today's release is the final test copy of Windows 8 before the product reaches Gold and is released to manufacturers. Today's release is available in 14 different languages, in both 32- and 64-bit versions.
According to the Building Windows 8 blog, the latest release comes with many new bundled applications, as well as many improvements such as better multi-monitor support.
The post also indicates that Microsoft aims to arrive at the final stages of the RTM process within two months, which would suggest a similar release schedule to Windows 7, according to The Verge.
