Mitt Romney's "with Matt" app for iPhone, released for his Presidential campaign, has a number of memorable slogans but none more than his promise of "A Better Amercia."
It may only have been a typo but the misspelled word attracted howls of derision on
Twitter where users were busy "tweeting photos showing the 'Amercia' message", the
Telegraph reported. Almost as bad, but not quite in the same league as far as gaffes go, was the slogan "Were With Mitt" highlighted by
IBN Live.
Romney campaign spokeswoman Andrea Saul made light of the glaring error, saying "Mistakes happen. I don't think any voter cares about a typo at the end of the day."
The app, which was released late on Tuesday, has now been spell-checked and updated to promise "A Better America." Embarrassing as the Romney app was it pales into comparison beside an earlier gaffe by the Rick Santorum campaign which
Naharnet reported mailed out "Santorum's Pubic Schedule."
