Police say that on Saturday, a man ordered dinner at Denny's restaurant, a Niagara Falls Boulevard all-night diner, and tried to pay with a bag of marijuana.
MSN reports that police say the man entered the restaurant at about 2 a.m. and ordered a meal of burger and fries worth $9.91. After the meal, he offered the cashier $1 and a bag of weed in exchange. According to
Ninemsn, when the cashier refused the deal, he began hawking the pot around the restaurant, hoping to chance on a fellow stoner to offload it on.
The cashier promptly called the police. According to
Buffalo News, at the sight of the police, he fled into a nearby wooded area. An employee at the restaurant, who recognized the man as a resident in the neighborhood, gave his name and address to the police. But he was not at home when the police called.
Police say they are still investigating the case.
