A female pilot had a male passenger thrown off a flight in Brazil after he went on a sexist rant about not wanting to fly with a woman in charge.
The Trip Airlines flight was getting ready to leave from Belo Horizonte. Before take off, the man stood up and shouted, "Someone should have told me the captain was a woman. I'm not flying with a female at the controls," Stylist Magazine reports.
The airline said the pilot ejected the passenger immediately upon hearing his sexist comments. He was escorted out of the airport by police. It is not known if the man was charged.
After an hour-long delay, the flight continued on its journey to Goias, Brazil, NineMSN reports.
"It's the first time I've heard of something like this happening," Pilots' union spokesman Gelson Fochesato said, according to Daily Mail. "This man had obviously just arrived from Mars and wanted to become a pioneer."
Trip Airlines said it would not "tolerate any disparaging remarks against any of its 1,400 female employees," Stylist Magazine reports.
