By Vlad Bourceanu     May 20, 2012 in Sports
Munich - Chelsea FC won the Champions' League in the lion's den, the home of their final opponents, Bayern Munich, and became the first London club to win it ever.
I am going crazy. I can't believe it!
As a fan of Chelsea Football Club since the age of 15, I am truly privileged to have witnessed, yesterday night, the greatest night in the club's history.
Chelsea Football Club are European Champions. Wow.
European Champions.
Not Mourinho, not Guardiola, nor yet anyone else made it to the top this year. Jupp Heynckes, the Bayern Munich coach, got desperately close, it's true - but his team was let down by a combination of bad finishing and lack of bottle. Chelsea Football Club have done it - they have created history once more.
Oh, how far it seemed once Bayern scored through Muller in the 82nd minute. How far it looked as we had finally crumbled after wave after wave of German attacks. And yet - cometh the hour, cometh the man - the legendary Didier Drogba rose up to the occasion, literally, to head home a goal from a corner cross past the Bayern goalkeeper, Manuel Neuer, in the 87th minute to send Chelsea fans into the ninth heaven.
It had to be Didier that gave away that penalty in extra-time ... and it could only be the hero of the night, Petr Cech to save it. And, after Cech had saved a couple more penalties in the shoot-out against the Germans, it had to be Drogba once more to clinch it for us with the final kick of the game, the final penalty spot kick, to send us all delirious and into raptures.
Oh, and, as a side-note - our neighbors, Tottenham Hotspur FC, will now be deprived of a Champions' League place due to our winning it outright. Doesn't get any sweeter than this, does it?
Savor the moment, Chelsea fans - Chelsea are European Champions. Chew on that, Europe - chew on that, football world!!!
Oh, and, if there's any justice in the world ... for goodness' sake give Roberto Di Matteo the job on a permanent basis ...
Carefree, wherever you may be, we are the famous CFC, and we don't give a **** whoever you may be, we are the famous CFC ...
