Filipino boxing sensation Manny Pacquiao will invade Hollywood with his appearance in a movie, “Brass Knuckles,” with Filipino-American actor Rob Schneider who will play his uncle in the movie.
Pacquiao will portray the role of a gangster in the movie to be directed by Erick Geisler, a two-time Emmy Award winner. The movie will highlight the bad side of illegal drugs, and it will be Pacquiao's first Hollywood movie.
“The whole point of the movie is it really exploits and shows how and what a bad choice it is to be involved with drugs and just this whole world,” Damian Perkins, the producer of the movie told ABS-CBN News.
Work on the film will start right after the scheduled fight between Pacquiao and Palm Springs boxing star Timothy Bradley on June 9 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. The movie will be released before the end of the year.
Pacquiao is now on his final phase of training for his showdown with Bradley under the direction of boxing trainer Freddie Roach at the Wild Card Gym in Hollywood.
Pacquiao is no stranger in movie-making having appeared in starring roles in local films. Aside from acting, he is also into singing and TV show hosting.
