'American Idol' viewers have voted out Joshua Ledet in the latest tally of online votes for the top three performers in the eleventh season of "American Idol."
Ledet's exit paves the way for Jessica Sanchez to face fellow finalist Philip Philips next week to find out who is the better performer based on online votes from American Idol's viewers.
In the latest votes tallied for the top three contestants prior to today's voting, Sanchez emerged on top with around 50% of the total votes cast., making her the show favorite to win this season's American Idol search.
In one of the recent episodes of the show, Sanchez was voted out by online viewers but was later saved by the judges which include Jennifer Lopez, Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler.
Steven Tyler, one of the judges of the popular show, believes Sanchez will be the last one standing as the show finale draws near.
"Jessica, when you sing, you make people hang on your every note. I just hope you get used to encores because you will be the last one standing here. I believe," Tyler said.
In the Philippines, where Sanchez' mother came from, many celebrities, politicians and music lovers have expressed their support for the 16-year old Mexican-Filipino American singing sensation.
Concert king Martin Nievera said: “Wow!!! this is the highest the Philippine flag has been raised on American Idol! Way to go Jessica!!!!”
“Congrats to @JSanchezAI11 for making it into the finale of AI...good luck...you have our support!!," entertainer Arnel Pineda said.
Sanchez and Philips will try to outdo each other next week when American Idol stages its finale in a star studded show where the winner will be announced.
